K House

The K House is a single-family residence in the new Jerusalem neighborhood of Malcha, overlooking the the south of the city (and its largest shopping mall). The House opens up primarily to a side garden. A large arcade integrates in a single motif several functions: exterior parking, entrance, the house's main staircase, and living areas. From the family's living spaces, the descending stair becomes a "motif" for its own aesthetic value. The use of simple metal elements, set among the stone masses, allows a rich material texture usually reserved for more expensive homes.
